Quiet estate in good commuting location

This estate is relatively quiet. The park in the centre is great and is kept maintained to a good standard. There are minimal issues with antisocial behaviour. Property management has always been great for us and despite a couple of issues when we first moved these were rectified quickly.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good spot to commute to Rotherham/Barnsley/Doncaster and Sheffield as close to motorway. Traffic noise is minimal even though it’s set back from a main road

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t know much about the help to buy scheme before moving in and would have liked to know more about that from Gleeson’s reccomended mortgage advisor

What is the best feature of your home:

Best feature is probably the location of the house

Brilliant area but poor workmanship and design

Not the best quality build, very cheap materials used especially with the plumbing, we’ve had faults with both toilets multiple times, also had a massive leak from upstairs toilet that soaked the kitchen walls and ceiling. Had to have boiler pipe work repaired as that was also leaking water, under the sink also keeps leaking into the cupboard and also the shower tray we have slopes backwards so the water stays in the tray instead of all running down the drain so seems like we had a very sloppy workers when things were put in.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nice quiet estate with a lovely community of people and a very good location for shops as we have supermarkets nearby and a town centre, the houser are nicely designed but the roads are very slim and parking is diabolical there are cars parked all the way down the already very slim road. Our drive has been designed really badly as we have got an extremely small drive compared to our neighbors and it makes it impossible to park on our drive as there are concrete slabs at one side so can’t get in and out of car if parked on drive and if we did go on our drive and anybody parked across from us, we would not be able to get off the drive without driving over our grass due to the size of the road.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d have known how difficult it would be to get on and off our drive as the road hadn’t been started when we moved in.

What is the best feature of your home:

Our Back garden is the best feature of our home as it it very large, the biggest area on our plot.

The design of the estate is poor there are areas where there is limited parking but lots of houses crammed in but other areas which have more space around and less parking issues. Property management has been fine and Gleeson have resolved any issues but this takes a long time

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Parking isn’t great. Antisocial behaviour can be poor at times, particularly in the park on-site not so much the houses

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

General area of village is pretty bad for antisocial behaviour which I didn’t realise before we moved.

What is the best feature of your home:

Best feature is downstairs as this is the most spacious. Upstairs design is poor for master bedroom

Great first home!

I think certain areas of our estate are badly designed, predominantly at the bottom of the estate where there seems to be more traffic and drainage issues. We are located on a quiet street with larger houses and so there seems to be more space compared to further into the estate where families have 3 cars for a 2 bed house with a small drive

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We’re lucky to have fantastic views from our property of countryside. As with any area, there are good and bad but in the 5 years we’ve lived here we’ve not had any issues. Plenty of local shops and a high street close by aswell. Traffic noise is minimal, our garden is so peaceful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Surrounding areas of the village aren’t what I expected but the estate itself is fine

What is the best feature of your home:

Best feature is location facing the countryside and our kitchen diner

Lovely house and area with room for improvement in some aspects.

It’s a lovely area with scenic walks and fields on the doorstep. We love our home and it’s good value for the money. The only issue really is parking and Gleeson drainage is terrible but other than that we love our home. It’s convenient for commuter links and nearby schools too.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local shops and bars are ok. The parking is a real issue but close to commuter links.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The drainage would be an ongoing issue.

What is the best feature of your home:

The downstairs with utility room and the south facing garden.
