Nice development, issues with property

The development itself is nice, looks eye pleasing and is quite spacious for a new development. However the property we moved into was riddled with issues. Our surrounding neighbours have also had issues. Mostly to do with drainage waste! The main road leading to our property still hasn’t been completed years after moving in.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good - great area, lots around such as shops and restaurants. Also a good few play parks for the kids.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long it would take to complete the road leading to the house.

What is the best feature of your home:

Open plan living area. The garden is a nice size for a new build.

Overall really happy with the service received.

Overall really happy with the service received. We have had a couple of issues lately that we’re never responded to (voicemails left) or followed up after an initial visit so those problems are still outstanding and shouldn’t feel I need to chase this. But overall with other problems we’ve had and the timeliness has been good. Our biggest issue is the amount of potholes in the roads that don’t seem to be getting fixed. Understand there will be some whole development is ongoing but there are some major ones still that can cause damage to people’s cars.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Really good accessibility to shops, travel, would like more leisure activities for example a gym/swimming pool as only local is David Lloyd which is very expensive. Street is quiet during evenings/weekends but is quite busy during the day with builders/workmen (who also treat it like a building site a lot of the time and not where people live, for example reckless driving and parking).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A timeline of the ongoing work so we knew how long to expect builders/noise in the area

What is the best feature of your home:

Look of the outside of the home is my favourite part and also the layout

Persimmon Homes - The Croft, Lyde Green

Area is poorly designed, garages are too small to park standard sized cars in and a lot of houses have two or more cars so people park dangerously. No crossings in place, makes it very difficult and dangerous to attempt to cross roads. Not enough bins either for the amount of service charge that we pay.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good location, traffic is very bad however, good access to local amenities. Bins collected regularly but parking is horrendous.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How poor Persimmon Homes are, as you are paying a lot for a new home you expect at least "good" service. The high turnover of site staff also speaks volumes!

What is the best feature of your home:

The size of the house and the location in which it is positioned on the street (in a quiet cul de sac).

Lovely Area

Great design of the house, and also have been well looked after by the developers even helping with issues beyond the normal scope of repairs, management of the area seems ok again few minor issues with roads and repair work, management company green square accord who are supposed to keep the green areas well maintained empty bins etc are pretty useless

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Nice area not a great deal of restaurants but good shopping especially for the necessities, parking can be a bit of a problem with over crowded streets, always anti social behaviour in developments but I've not noticed anything worse than anywhere else a bit of a recent issue with thefts but again now housing development so prime target I suspect

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Compacted earth on the garden is a bit of a pain wouldn't have laid grass before having it sorted waste of money

What is the best feature of your home:

Build quality is excellent and the layout of the property is really good
