Don’t buy Anwyl homes - bare faced liars

Matt L (Owner)

Lovely house design, but the build quality and finishing is horrendous and Anwyl are not bothered one single bit. They are only interested in getting each plot sold and moving on without returning to repair or finish items that should have been completed as part of building and selling a home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

No street lighting and waiting for top coat of tarmac. Bin collections are sporadic. No anti social behaviour

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How shoddy the workmanship and build quality is and that I wouldn’t buy another Anwyl home or convince someone I know to buy one

What is the best feature of your home:

Struggling to find one at the moment. House positioning is its striking feature

Good design, bad build quality and the ugly customer service

Sai (Owner)

the design of the properties that have been constructed are really good, modern and spacious, but the construction quality is really bad especially the interiors and quality of work done is really poor. On top of this the site managers and the sales team are really bad at customer service and would not provide the basic service expected by the builders.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

This development is in a semi-rural area and the shops are few miles away but there is a new Aldi being built right next to the development and this will change the dynamics of conveniences. There is no Public transport nearby. Street we live in is till not complete as this construction is still on going and there are several issues od not having public walking pavements on either sides of the street which is really inconvenient and also the Bin collection is really terrible.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I was informed about the poor customer service of the builder and also the number of issues that are being ignored by the builder risen due to poor quality of construction.

What is the best feature of your home:

Good overall design of the house and is spacious with decent sized garden.

The design of the development and the properties is very attractive

The design of the development and the properties is very attractive. Thee were 4 different property styles I liked. Ant issues I’ve raised have usually been dealt with quickly but occasionally the problem I’ve reported hasn’t been logged and I’ve had to ring up again.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The development is surrounded by 3 lovely villages that have all the amenities you could need. It would be helpful if there was a bus service to them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The welcome hamper was great as we didn’t know where our tea and coffee were packed. It would have been useful to have a pot of paint to touch up any knocks on moving in day.

What is the best feature of your home:

I live in a Kingsley and the large kitchen family room opening up to the garden area is fantastic. I also love that the front of my property is partially painted white and the front porch is lovely too.

Very disappointing!

There are so many reasons why I could not recommend this dreadful company but here are just a few... - the sales advisor is completely useless. On several occasions he lied, had almost no knowledge of the development or products he was selling, made up answers and let us down over and over. - our property (which was accessible to the public) was left unlocked a number of times over weekends with no care from Sales or the site manager. - on completion day our new home was completely filthy in all areas, carpets were dirty and worst of all there was urine stains all over the cloaks toilet. - there are three site agents, all three are liars and / or completely unreliable for even the most basic of requests. The site manager promised us jobs would be done face to face during the initial walk around the house post completion but then lied to these conversations taking place and refused to do them. He since refuses to come back around to the house and just sends his assistant who is inexperienced and has zero customer service skills. - since moving in we have had several issues all which you would expect to have with a new build from leaks, excessive screw pops, large cracks that exceed acceptable shrinkage and plasterboards dropping from the ceiling. All of these issues have been reported and either have been ignored or took far too long for them to be addressed. Anwyl Homes do not participate in the NHBC home owner surveys post completion so they are able to get away with their awful practices without customer having opportunity to raise all of their failings. Please if you are looking at this shared site consider Belway across the road. From speaking to new friends on this site who purchased a Belway, they aren’t perfect but the site team and build quality appears to be significantly better than Anwyl Homes. Please seriously think twice about purchasing on this development, Maes Y Rhedyn, Llay, Wrexham as in mine and several other residents opinion there would only be frustration and disappointment ahead!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How terrible the finish would have been and how much money I would have needed to put into our NEW home to just bring it up to an acceptable quality.

What is the best feature of your home:

Layout works well however integral garage should have access from within the home.

Fantastic estate!

Mrs T (Owner)

Our home is well laid out with plenty of space inside. The garden is an excellent size especially for a new build property. The green in the middle of the estate will be lovely when finished and the whole estate will be great for walks once finished.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great location, semi rural but easy access to the bypass. It will be great when the new aldi is built for convenience. The main road outside the estate is being changed to 40mph soon hopefully!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The snagging list takes a while to be done!

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is the kitchen with plenty of space and huge windows looking out over our south facing garden.
