Avoid Anwyl

I wish I never bought an Anwyl house. 2 years and still having serious problems. Once they have your money they don’t care. Your house looks nothing like the show homes. Dreadful customer care and site agents who don’t know / care how to sort things. You don’t expect all this stress when you pay a premium for a new build house. Dreadful plasterwork, leaking appliances, drive needing to be dug up as pipes not connected. Over 150 snags that have taken 2 years plus. Jobs messed up time and time again. Owners of company don’t respond. Site managers couldn’t care less and customer care is a joke.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Dog mess and builders’ rubbish everywhere. Grounds not maintained. Pot holes in roads. Builders and contractors constantly block roads and drive and no consideration for residents.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Poor build quality wasn’t ready or worth money

What is the best feature of your home:

garden (even though it kept flooding and didn’t have turf when moved in as promised).

Very happy with the property, but better for less cost elsewhere.

The property is well laid out, very well designed, however implementation has been of speed and savings rather than quality. Many niggles over the first years in the property. Squeaking floors, cracks in walls, leaks, and lack of due care and attention by on site staff.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Easy access to local transport links, motorway, trains etc. Great access to local shops, just a minute walk to the nearest convenience store. Not so good is the issues with parking on street, and road width being the bear minimum for 2 cars. Bin collections are also excellent. The estate is also opposite an industrial space, with noisy staff at shift change 11pm. And cars speed past the estate.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Ground quality is terrible, unable to use garden without significant investment of time and money. Squeaking everywhere in the house. No soundproofing and very thin walls.

What is the best feature of your home:

Building design and space. Great to have more space to store and manage a family without falling over each other. Bathroom, downstairs toilet, and an ensuite, is a life saver!

Many snags for a new build.

The house has had a number of snags, creaky floorboards, ceiling light issues and a leaking toilet within just a few months of occupancy. We are struggling to have our roof checked as it suffered damage from Storm Arwen.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

There is a train station a 5 minute drive away and easy access to the motorway.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The developers don't install an alarm system.

What is the best feature of your home:

The garden is very large and over two tiers, making good use of limited space.

I love my home here at lea grange the area and the people are a delight and I love the facilities around the estate such as the co op and the costcutter but I do wish that they would fix the pond

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Before I moved in I wish I had known that there was only one way in and out of the estate

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of my house is the toilets because I’ve never had this many facilities

Nice Development - Perfect for Families

Karen M (Owner)

The design of the development is really nice and well laid out and so far our experience with Anwyl has been relatively positive. However, as the site is not yet completely finished, we have not had any experience dealing with the building and property management so I am not in position to comment.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location of our development is perfect in terms of transport links, accessibility to the motorways and town centre. It's also close to schools and convenience shops. The only downside is that the development is located opposite an industrial business park which isn't the most ascetically pleasing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing really that stands out, we are very happy with our home and wouldn't change anything.

What is the best feature of your home:

Our house is very well laid out and is spacious. The way it was designed makes sure we manage to use the space in the most efficient way.
