House on edge of development

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The locality is excellent. The development is built just on the edge of the village with easy walking access (via different routes for variety) to two supermarkets, hair salons, cafes, takeaways, pubs and a few shops. The open space around the development makes for lovely nature trail type walks (however we have been living here for 4 years and they still haven’t joined up the path leading around the estate meaning you cannot walk a pram/ride a bicycle around the perimeter. There are no bus routes directly around the estate but we live on the edge of it so a bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away. Living on our street is fairly quiet. There is little to no traffic noise however drivers do often drive into the estate at extremely high speed (there are no speed limit signs as of yet) and therefore this can be extremely disruptive. Bin collection is good, consistent and reliable. The building work going on locally is extremely disruptive and has been ongoing for 4 years now. You would expect this from a new-build development however we bought our plot on the premise that they were not building residential property next door. However the land was sold to an external company and this is now happening. It has taken a long time for certain things to be completed on the development including the complete of children’s play areas which were promised years ago and had to be campaigned for by the local community to get these finished.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Positive: how fantastic the location is - particularly walking routes. The size of the garden. Negative: the finish quality.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

We would absolutely change the quality of interior. The doors are extremely flimsy and sound travels so easily through the thin walls.

Review of Persimmons Home (Bishops Cleeve) Greenacre development

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Easy access to M5 motorway and within 15 mins driving to beautiful Cotswold town of Cheltenham. Local shops in Bishops Cleeve include 2 large supermarkets and a small convenience store and retail outlets are currently being constructed on the actual Greenacres site.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Notwithstanding the delays due to COVID lockdown, on the few visits I have had in an attempt to rectify issues after the first 12m of occupancy, they do not appear to follow it up and complete the 'snagging'. I even overheard one employee tell another that 'customer service is not top priority at the moment, getting the houses completed was'.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Had I known the issue with an unusable garden I would have asked for an inspection of what lay below the turf prior to inspection.

Poor quality houses - steer clear of persimmons

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Promised a pub, shops, community centre over 3 years ago, still nothing. Shoddy workmanship internally and externally and they never come back to rectify, and if they do they make a mess of it. Amazing area and surroundings, and amazing sense of community. But as for persimmons and their part, awful, absolutely awful. Wouldn’t buy another persimmons house if it was the last one around. Builders don’t care about the area, still building here and rubbish everywhere, a bunch of cow boys, we’ve been massively Mis-sold on their part.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Take ages to come out, still waiting for some issues to be solved. 3 years on!!!!!!!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Trouble with the property, issues we’ve had.
