Meridian South Development reviews “Despite approaching 20 years since being built, Meridian South in Hither Green is not yet showing signs of age, and even though the buildings might not be cutting edge in terms of design, they are attractive and well spaced. Flats are generously sized and light. Communal areas are kept very clean even though they are not particularly fancy. From experiences of friends, it seems that buildings of this age are of much higher quality than some of the newest developments where friends of mine are already experiencing many more structural issues with damp and cracking than I ever have done. Only criticisms are obscenely high service charges for little visible benefit, and a lack of the promised shop units to bring street life to the development.” Verified Resident of Rosse Gardens Are you a resident at a Meridian South Development property? Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Hither Green is a friendly and attractive area of south east London. Whilst I found it oddly quiet when I first moved from busy inner north London I have grown to love the mixed community and laid back atmosphere. There are interesting local shops with busier centres nearby. It would be nice to have more of a night time economy with pubs and restaurants locally, and a slightly more reliable train service.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the trains are not as reliable as the timetable promises

Development doesn’t have the amenities of newer developments (e.g. concierge, residents gym, etc), but is good value.

Slightly older development now in Hither Green (old Hither Green Hospital redevelopment). Good location, with only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest station (Hither Green Mainline), and one stop from the DLR in Lewisham. Development doesn’t have the amenities of newer developments (e.g. concierge, residents gym, etc), but is good value.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Area is a Mecca for families and young couples given it’s good value and zone 3 location. Good cafes and small local shops around, though a little more limited in number compared to other areas. Zone 3 location with one station which is in the SouthEastern route network with regular services to London Central stations.
