A decent investment

This has been a great investment & overall I am very pleased with my purchase. I lived here for a year and am now renting it out; as a resident the facilities are great but probably a bit pricey. The service charge for the pool etc far exceeds the monthly cost of my gym etc but these extras have definitely henpled me now rent it out. My flat has 2 beds, 2 baths, reception room and a kitchen... they claim it’s about 1,000sq ft - I’m not convinced... it looks spacious empty but as soon as furniture and every day living fills it up, it feels pretty small. Please tell us more about the location and surrounding area to your development Central Canary Wharf - perfect Please share one thing (or more) that you wish you had known before you moved in: That the flat would fill up pretty quickly with furniture leaving limited space

Perfect stay

Dockside is situated just three minutes walk from the DLR station and is ideal for professionals working in nearby Canary Wharf, as well as for accessing the local bars and restaurants. I stayed for a week in a rented apartment - there appear to be a number in the area for short lets. I thought there was a lot of space compared to other service flats and finished to a high specification with quality fixtures and fittings, and a concierge service. Most apartments boast waterside views across the dock. Canary Wharf DLR is just three stops away with access to a wealth of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as the business district. To shop go to Canada Place, Jubilee Place, Cabot Place and Crossrail Place.

Lots of short term lets

Discovery Dock seems to have multiple serviced apartments which are either owned/ long term rented by a company for their employees or are rented out like hotel rooms - so I cannot imagine that you ever get to know your neighbours if you live here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We rented a flat for a week and we stayed in DD West - the downside to this was the gym/pool were in the East building, but we were on the side entrance/exit which was closer to the footbridge to Canary Wharf shops and more importantly the tube station.

Incredible views but noisy

I stayed here in one of the serviced apartments for a few nights. The apartments look very good, the view is incredible, downstairs there is a Tesco and the DLR is just right there.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The apartment is not at all soundproof : you can hear the sound of the elevator and the trains coming into South Quay Station. Furthermore, as there are a lot of works going on you cannot open the curtains because the workers look straight inside!
