Edgware is a suburban area of North London that sits mostly in the borough of Barnet but also with a small section in Harrow. Edgware offers a safe and relatively green option for famililes and young professionals, with a great selection of semi-detached properties to choose from. The last two stops on the Edgware branch of the Northern line serve the area alongside Canons Road and Queensbury stations on the Jubilee line.
Unliveable
While Edgware may have an ok high street with shops and restaurants as well as an underground with the Northern line, the positives stop there. Its a very dirty place, and despite the building managers best efforts there is litter outside the apartment complex as well as all over the High street every day. Neighbours are very inconsiderate, often playing loud music well into the early hours of the morning. There where also several incidents of people allowing their pets to defecate in the halls, as well as people who would smoke in their apartments despite it being against tenancy contract.
Please review your development:
There is no air conditioning in the apartment, and as a result you will need to have two large fans on full blast 24/7 to make living in this apartment just about bearable during the summer months. Even when its not too hot outside. Fridge is tiny and has about enough storage for a handful of items. Stove automatically turns off every 10 minutes making it very frustrating to cook with. When the building manager came around to introduce us to the features of the apartment he was cursing several times for no reason at all.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I knew how inconsiderate, dirty and rude the neighbours of Edgware were.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes but they did nothing about it. We needed help dealing with the unliveable heat but property management just told us to get fans which didn’t solve the problem.
